With Chrono24 Certified, you can add professional authentication to eligible purchases, carried out at a Chrono24 certification center. Both options follow the same authentication standards and include a digital Certificate of Authenticity and an authenticity guarantee. More questions and answers

What does Chrono24 Certified mean?

Chrono24 Certified is a service offered by Chrono24 in which experienced watchmakers verify and certify the authenticity of a watch. Two options are available: Partner Certified: Watches are certified by verified partner watchmakers Chrono24 Certified: Authentication is carried out at a Chrono24 certification center for a fee. If a watch passes the inspection, it receives a digital Certificate of Authenticity as well as an Authenticity Guarantee.

How does the certification process work with Chrono24 Certified?

To receive the Chrono24 Certificate of Authenticity, a watch must pass an extensive inspection process. First, all watches undergo a thorough visual inspection, in which every part – from the case and dial to the hands and movement – is checked for originality. This also includes checking whether the serial number and any modifications (such as service dials or similar) match the information in the watch's papers. The watch is then tested for functionality and timekeeping accuracy. Finally, a check is carried out against The Watch Register, one of the largest databases for lost and stolen watches. The entire process usually takes 2 to 3 business days.

What does the Chrono24 Certificate of Authenticity include?

If a watch successfully passes the authentication process, it receives a digital certificate. In addition to confirming the watch's authenticity, this certificate contains general information such as the reference and serial numbers, as well as all findings obtained during the inspection process. The certificate is stored in your Chrono24 account, so it cannot be lost.

Chrono24 Certified vs. Manufacturer certification

Chrono24 Certified is a brand-independent authentication service. This means it doesn't matter whether the watch is from Rolex, Omega, TAG Heuer, Cartier, or another brand. Manufacturer certificates, such as Rolex Certified Pre-Owned, are only offered by manufacturers or their partners for models from their own brand.
